Good news...finally!

Last week we got some wonderful news....the chemo did it's job and shrank Brads tumor so now there is only a small area left. The doctor wasn't sure if what was left was just dead cells or active cancer cells. He said the area was so small and so close to his heart that another biopsy was out of the question. He said he was going to consult with a lymphoma specialist about the area to see if they suggested any more chemo and send us to the radiation doctor to see if he needed radiation.

We seen Dr. Newman today, the radiation oncologist. She was amazing!! She expalined everything in great detail. She said because Brads mass was so large that he has a greater risk of it coming back so he will have to have radiation. Since what's left is so close to his heart she doesn't feel comfortable doing the radiation at the Albemarle facility..she said if he was 65 she wouldn't hesitate but since he's only 35 the risk down the road of heart and lung disease from the radiation is greater. She said Northeast has better technology and can better monitor how much radiation his heart and lungs will be getting. So we will be going to Northeast hospital in Concord for his treatments which will be daily for 4 weeks. We go next Wednesday for consult, CT scan and for him to be marked for radiation.

He's still on the blood thinner for the blood clot in his left arm and will be for another 2 months then he will have a repeat ultrasound to see if the clot has resolved.

Everyone in our life has been so completely amazing and caring and we are beyond blessed. I would personally like to say thank you to Dana Johnson for being such an amazing, caring, passionate nurse and for all of her help. To Lori Roberts... I absolutely love you and what you are doing for our family, you will never know how much you and your help means to us. To my Mt. Vista family...y'all are my rock and my sanity. I love each of you with my whole heart and will be forever grateful for EVERYTHING you all have done for me, Brad and the kids!!! To Dr. Induru and the awesome chemo nurses, y'all are the best and the sweetest. To the 2 people that have asked to remain anonymous...your help has been such a blessing and I love you 2 very much!! Thank you all so very much for everything. We have had a rough year, but with everyone we have in our lives we are gonna be just fine.
